{Book review} Cupcakes & fairycakes by the Australian Women's Weekly

Cupcakes and fairycakes By The Australian Women's Weekly
Soft cover
120 pages

This is truly MY cupcake bible ! Everything I have baked using their recipe was delicious and the photos are mouthwatering and inspiring.
Judge for yourself:

Toffee-apple towers

Lemon meringue cupcakes

Recipes

Each recipe is well written with step-by-step instructions and illustrated by a splendid A4 photograph.
It is a pleasure to flick through the book because it is not "crowded',  just one recipe per page.

Measurements are in cups&spoon AND metric which makes the recipes very easy to follow.

There are advices on the presentation. You may want to simply go for a cupcake with icing but this book inspires you to go for extraordinary decorations.

You can find recipes suitable for pretty much any occasion. From a simple afternoon tea to a birthday party or even a wedding.

Coconut kisses

Technical section

The last pages create a technical section with details of the equipment you may need (with picture) and tutorials on different techniques (working with chocolate, toffee and fondant, piping and more techniques such as making sugar-frosting fruits), also with pictures.

  1. My friend referred me to this book...and I'm so glad she did. It's easy to use, has a plethora of useful info and ideas, tons of different recipes, decorating ideas, and lots of photos. All recipes have been tried and tested 3 times prior to publishing. I baked my first batch and they turned out picture perfect!
